Yes, it’s been a while since there’s been a Sugar Cane Baby blog, but, alas, we are back! It’s a beautiful Fall day where I am, and at present, I am sitting here drinking my Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, the smell reminding me of mornings of my youth when my grandma would be drinking her coffee before going to open her shop on King Street in Montego Bay (only thing missing is the smell of my plate of ackee and saltfish and fried dumpling–uh, oh, my mouth is watering now, let me stop while I’m ahead! LOL).

So, my lovely, people, you’ll be hearing a lot more from SCB, and I’d love to hear from you! Reaching into the unknown….

This world of blogging is definitely a new one for me. Not so long ago I used to think, “Why in the world should I blog? Who wants to hear someone rambling on and on about what they think?”,blah, blah, blah. Cut to 2009 and what am I sitting here doing…..yep, that’s right, writing in my blog! It still feels a bit strange even reading that–’my blog’! Funny how that happens in life, huh? At one stage in our lives we hold so strongly to certain ideals and swear up and down we would absolutely never do something (or swear we would) only to have Time work its magic on us and mold us into different beings, even if it’s just an ever-so slight difference. It’s further proof for me that the only thing absolutely certain in life IS change. Everyday I work to embrace that change because that IS life! Just think….if a great crystal ball fell from the sky and you were told today what is going to happen to you everyday of your life for the rest of your life, do you think you would try to attempt new ventures/adventures? Try to take a chance on that long lost love who has never left your heart? On children? On careers? On yourself? Of course not! There would be no need once the crystal ball told you all that would take place. Life would get awfully complacent and stale don’t you think? So I say, raise your glasses to this magical, mysterious, juicy thing called LIFE and all its accompanying changes and surprises. Who knows, you might just find yourself in places you never thought you’d visit or attempting things you never felt you could—like blogging.
